Paul grew up in New England, where he spent most of his youth skiing and riding bikes with friends in the mountains of Vermont. Documenting these antics was his original inspiration to pick up a camera, which eventually evolved into a lifelong passion for narrative cinematography and street photography.
Paul spent the first chapter of his professional filmmaking career in Austin, TX where he cut his teeth camera assisting on the films of local legend Richard Linklater, among countless other indie features, network television shows, and national brand commercials.
Since transitioning from AC to Operator and DP, Paul has shot additional photography for a feature documentary in Europe, traveled to Thailand and Vietnam for a national brand commercial campaign, DP’ed multicam live events, and collaborated with many talented directors on commercials, documentaries, and scripted shorts. His approach to cinematography is story-focused with a tendency towards naturalistic and authentic, yet bold and emotional imagery.
Paul is a Rostered member of ICG Local 600 working locally in Albuquerque, NM, Los Angeles, CA, and Austin, TX.
When not creating beautiful images on set, you can find him wandering the streets with a camera or exploring the mountains on his skis or bicycle.
